I write and research at the point where artificial intelligence meets work, culture, and the people whose labour it is built on.

Most of what I know about that came from standing on both sides of it: six years taking AI products to market at Microsoft, then a master’s at the Oxford Internet Institute and a year with the Fairwork project auditing the supply chains behind those same systems. I grew up in Istanbul, I live in London, and I write most of it down in On the Record.
